My work is rooted in guiding people back to their own authority and inner resources while dismantling the puritanical rules that dominate healing and spirituality. I approach care through a decolonial lens, recognizing that most modern therapeutic models were built to serve white, upper-class men as well as to control women and minorities—and that the contemporary white western wellness industry often reproduces harm rather than repair.
My practice centers repair, conflict resolution, and boundaries, while actively resisting the hyper-individualism western therapy has normalized. Whenever safety and capacity allow, I shift focus toward co-regulation and community care. I work to disrupt separation stories and prioritize relational healing. To increase accessibility I offer sliding-scale pricing so resources can circulate across class and circumstance.
With that being said I studied at the institute for human services from 2009-2010 where I worked toward a youth worker diplomia. The program cross-trained students to work with all age groups, emphasizing cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and the long-term impact of the developmental stages. I completed two supervised practicums and learned about this history of psychology. I was fortunate to learn in an environment where hierarchy was intentionally dismantled—teachers were addressed by first name, and humanness was prioritized. The most enduring lesson I took with me was that lived experience often outweighs academic study when working with people.
I went on to work in a retirement home taking on multiple roles within the facility. There, I witnessed firsthand the consequences of isolating elders and the dying. The burnout that followed led me—temporarily, or so I thought—away from human services and into the bar/entertainment industry. I now understand that bars function as informal safe consumption sites and community hubs. My decade in the service industry only deepened my capacity for attunement, boundary-holding, and crisis navigation, skills I continue to draw on in my work today.
In 2018, I completed my death doula certification through INELDA. While I didn’t initially feel prepared to practice, I continued my training in 2019 at Willow Farm Contemplative Centre through The Cause to Pause program, largely informed by the teachings of Roshi Joan Halifax. This training became the missing piece that grounded my work ethically, somatically, and relationally.
Since then, I’ve expanded my understanding of death work to include end-of-life support, bereavement care, and accompaniment for people choosing at-home abortions. I approach these moments with reverence, practicality, and deep respect for autonomy.
Alongside my formal training, I am also versed in astrology and tarot, which I interweave into my practice as reflective and meaning-making tools—not as prescriptive authority
I bring together certification, lived experience, and deep relational presence, staying rooted in my humanness as I support people wherever they find themselves on their life path.
